Miscellaneous Updates

Just a few unrelated updates.

First, the Android App Review Source website posted a brief online interview with me on developing Android applications.

Also, version 2.01 of BikJump ended at second place in the CCC 17th Amateur Series (Division 8), which opens the possibility of promotion to a higher division. Many thanks to Graham Banks for running this tournament!

Finally, Martin Fierz published Checkers Tutor for Android, a strong checkers program for Android.

Cool! An interview, second place in a competition, that is a great start of the new year!

Congrats!

Hey Aart,

do you have any idea whether my program actually plays stronger than yours? I haven't tested them against each other yet (and I only have an older version of your program so any comparison would be unfair).

cheers
Martin

Hi Martin,
I haven't tested any games between the programs, but I am convinced your program is much stronger. You are an experienced checkers programmer while I am a starting amateur. By the way, I would like to work with you on incorporating some endgame databases into the programs, since my checkers program plays very weak in the endgame.
Aart
